Description
to propose a constitutional amendment to Section 1, Article V regarding sources of judicial authority, law and jurisdiction so as to exercise such authority with strict adherence to United States Constitutional Law, the South Carolina Constitution, the United States Code and federal regulations, and South Carolina statutes and rules and regulations. When needed, the State can rely on judicial decisions of cases in other states. The amendment may not permit courts of South Carolina to consider other sources of law, including: international law, legal precepts of other nation-states or cultures, other constitutions or laws or regulations or court decisions of other nations? courts. The amendment shall not consider conventions or treaties as legal sources, whether or not the United States is a signature
